Biography
María Jesús Alonso is a professor of Geography and Art History, and one of the leading specialists in the work of Gaudí. She holds a degree in History from the Complutense University of Madrid and was awarded the First Prize of the Fray Bernardino de Sahagún Foundation of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) for her research on Gaudí's work in Astorga. She is a Founding Member of the Friends of Casa Lis Association in Salamanca, a driving force behind the Museum of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and an active participant in the Gaudí Friends Association in Barcelona.
