Biography
Dídac Ramírez Sarrió is a Spanish academic and professor, born in Barcelona in 1946. He was the rector of the University of Barcelona from 2008 to 2016. He holds doctorates in Philosophy and in Economic and Business Sciences and has been a professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the same university. During his tenure as rector, he managed challenges such as the student occupation in 2009 protesting the Bologna Process. Ramírez Sarrió has also published numerous works in economics and philosophy and has served as president of the Catalan Society of Philosophy and as a member of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences.
